DIY: Workout Jar

The past couple of weeks have been ones of fitness, studying and birthday present shopping! On Friday night, my friends and I celebrated another friend's 18th birthday - there was lots of singing and dancing and we all just had fun!

This month I finally figured out what I wanted to do after I finished high school and I can't believe how long it took me. Drum roll.... PE teacher and personal trainer. The answer was pretty obvious seeing as I love fitness and I have always wanted to teach. Well, what can I say, blonde moment? I'm hoping to open my own business that involves training and education young people to be happy and healthy.

When I was 13 I weighed 96 kilos. One day I decided enough was enough and started to exercise and eat healthy. Within three months I lost 15 kilos but then I hit a plateau; as hard as I was working out I wasn't losing any weight. I ended up restricting what I was eating so much so that I lost 15 kilos every month for the next two months. I got very sick and was diagnosed with anorexia. My lowest weight was 48 kilos; for my height that was really dangerous. I really want to be there for people like my 13 year old self who want to lose weight. I want to help young people who want to be healthy. I am hoping that, after I get my teaching degree, to go to TAFE to study personal training. I want to offer teenagers and young adults discounted training sessions and boot camps. I would also like to be able to give mini seminars to high schools on how to be healthy. My aim is to help both men and women be happy with their bodies at whatever size they are and to guide them in living a healthy life! Sorry about my little spiel there!

After having been addicted to pinterest for quite some time I decided to try out some of thing ideas and blog them. One idea is the workout jar. I altered it to suit me, but the concept is pretty much the same. I bought the jar and the popsicle sticks from my local $2 shop and wrote all different exercises and workouts on them. I haven't actually used it yet as I don't work out on Sundays but the whole idea is to randomly pick out 10 and repeat them 2-3 times every day.

I honestly think this is a great idea; you will never get bored with the same ol' work outs and it actually acts as a really cute room decoration! The workouts range from small things like yoga to 30 min cross trainer and exercises such as burpees, Russian twists and lunges. I am really excited to try it out!

This month I am also looking for work. I want to start making my own money so that I can go travelling and buy the things that I want instead of my parents doing it for me! At the end of the year I plan to go to Queensland with my friend's family to celebrate her 18th and then I plan to travel to Sicily in Italy to visit my cousins; it would be a really good opportunity to practice my Italian!

In terms of the blog, I am hoping to post about 3 or 4 times a week, so stay tuned for some goodies; I have some exciting things planned! Any who, I should get going as currently it is 10:33pm and I haven't finished my VCD homework! :/

Nighty night!
